WORKSHOP: FROM EAR TO BODY - ACOUSTIC REBOOT METHOD WITH DIMITRA TRYPANI

The two Laboratories of the Department for Music Studies of the NKUA, “Music Pedagogy” and “Music Cognition, Computation and Community” are honored to host Dimitra Trypani, Associate Professor of the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University, in a workshop entitled: FROM EAR TO BODY - ACOUSTIC REBOOT METHOD, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 18:00-21:00, in room 917 of the School of Philosophy.

Dimitra Trypani's "From Ear to Body" Acoustic Reboot Method consists of a comprehensive set of tools and techniques aimed at rebooting the acoustic and rhythmic perception of musicians, actors, dancers, educators, and students of all levels, as well as professionals managing groups. Additionally, the method aims to introduce new ways of creatively integrating sound and rhythm into interdisciplinary educational, social, and/or artistic activities. The exercises of the method not only pass through conventional music notation but are based on the connection of hearing with the body, the literal integration of sound, so that it can be naturally and substantially decoded through the st rictly structured use of voice, asymmetric rhythms (polyphony and polyrhythm), and through body percussion.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Music Studies are warmly invited!
